Mr. Fred Astaire
Mr. Fred Astaire, considered to be the greatest multitalented dancer of all time, wanted to establish a chain of studios under his name to make sure that his techniques would be preserved and passed onto the public. Mr. Astaire was instrumental in the choice of dance curriculum and instructional techniques. With the opening of the first Fads Chester LLC on Park Avenue in New York City, Fred Astaire brought his immense talent out of the glamour of Hollywood and onto the dance floors of America and the world.
“Some people seem to think that good dancers are born.” Astaire once observed. “All the good dancers I’ve known have been taught or trained. To me, dancing has always been fun. I enjoy every minute of it. I am glad that I can now put my knowledge to use in bringing personal confidence and a feeling of achievement to so many people.”
Today, numerous Fads Chester LLC located in cities throughout North America and internationally, are required to maintain the highest standards of excellence through our International Dance Council and Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studios curriculum certification. Although Mr. Astaire is no longer with us in person, our studios have produced a wealth of amateur and professional dancers who are the living embodiment of his style and grace.

At Fads Chester LLC, new students can take advantage of our special Introductory Offer! Simply submit the form on this site, and we’ll contact you to learn about your dance goals and schedule your first lesson. Once you experience how fun ballroom dancing can be, you’ll want to keep moving!
Is it ever too late to start dancing?
Absolutely not. We teach students of every age and ability, from first-timers to lifelong dancers. Our instructors specialize in helping adults learn comfortably, build confidence, and have fun discovering a new passion at their own pace.
What styles of dance do you teach?
We offer a wide range — from ballroom classics like Waltz and Foxtrot to Latin favorites such as Salsa, Rumba, and Cha-Cha. For those with a competitive edge, we can also help you become a skilled Pro/Am competitor with your Instructor at lots of branded Fred Astaire Regional, Inter-Regional, National and International dance competitions!
Do I need a partner to take lessons?
Absolutely not! We welcome singles and couples here at Fads Chester LLC. If you come in as one of our single Students, your Dance Instructor will be your partner for private lessons, and our group classes and practice sessions will provide plenty of opportunities to meet – and dance with – other dance Students with the same interests and goals!
